Description
The intent of the DWD UIM project is to modernize the entire unemployment
insurance process by web-enabling it and providing workflow and imaging capability
to the system. Employers and claimants will now be able to register online.
Efficiency of the entire process will be improved, thus decreasing time of delivery for
payments to claimants.
This software functionality is sub divided into:
1. Imaging and Workflow: The Data Capture, Imaging, and Workflow for Quick
Wins provides an improved environment for receiving and processing
incoming correspondence, as well as, intelligent routing of document and
adjudication work to DWD staff.
2. Core Benefits: The Core Benefits component provides the functionality
required to administer claimants and their benefits within the overall
Unemployment Insurance program. This functionality begins with claimant
registration and supports the complete claimant and claim life cycle.
3. Core Tax: The UIM Core Tax project will provide the functionality required to
administer employer accounts and their tax contributions within the
Unemployment Insurance program. The Core Tax implementation will
include several functional areas including employer registration, employer
rating, report and payment processing, collections, field audits,
certifications, accounting and report generation.
4. Core Appeals: The UI Connect Core Appeals component provides the
functionality required to administer both claimant and employer appeals

within the Unemployment Insurance program. This function begins with
the claimant or employer requesting an appeal and continues to support the
complete appeal life cycle including tracking the appeals that are referred to
